Colonel Walker School

Working with the Playground Committee volunteers and CBE, People Places engaged parents, teachers, and students to create creative play opportunities for visual, spatial and sensory diversity; maximizing play and learning opportunities. Research suggests combining play equipment with natural elements in this way increases cognitive development and reduces aggression in children.
Play spaces were organized from social to solitary, and active to creative, to accommodate a range of learning styles, stages of development and to provide play leadership opportunities by mixing age groups.
